About MedClean: Our History

MedClean, a CareTex company, has been satisfying customers for many years, first in Chicago and currently throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan. This reputation dates back to 1930 when founder Chris “Mickey” Georgadis realized the need for a company to deliver clean towels to beauty and barber shops, so he washed and delivered them from his home’s basement in Chicago — and thus the beginning…

With the company’s outstanding regard for quality and service, the business grew to the point that in 1936, Mickey moved from his home into a new processing facility. During this time, his nephew, Peter G. Brown, joined the company. Peter immediately expanded the company’s product line to accommodate new customers and new markets. 

The commitment to excellence, established by Peter G. Brown, remains the cornerstone of the company today, under the direction of his children: Greg, Cynthia, Nick and Chris. Today, MedClean operates in four states, employing over 400 team members. As MedClean continues to grow within its existing facilities as well as in new markets, they will never lose sight of the product quality and unparalleled service that got them to where they are today.  MedClean is the number one source of Textile Services for the Healthcare Industry.
